Thank you for visiting my site. For those who do not know me, I am Mike D’Agostino, and I am running for First Selectman of Redding.

My wife Toni and I moved to Redding 32 years ago. We fell in love with the rural beauty, welcoming community and quality of schools in Redding.  We have 2 children, both of whom attended Redding Schools. Our son is an Associate at Sullivan & Cromwell, one of the world’s most prestigious law firms and our daughter attends The NEAG School of Education at University of Connecticut. 

I am a Master Carpenter and founded a Construction Management Company that has been successful for over 30 years. 

I have also been an active and dedicated elected official in the Town of Redding serving on the Boards of Education for 10 years, The Chair of the Democratic Town Committee and Facilities Committee Chair serving all of Redding Schools for the past 12 years.

Like you, I know Redding is very special, but I am concerned about its future. Like many small towns, Redding is faced with both great opportunities and significant challenges. I believe the path we take over the next few years will shape the long-term future of Redding.

The next chapter of leadership in our town will need to successfully address the increasing costs of education, infrastructure, social services and other rising costs. Responsible, thoughtful and expeditious development of our existing commercial centers and Gilbert & Bennett, which has been a dormant asset for well over a decade, will be critical to our future. We also need to protect our unique rural and natural resources. 

And it is no secret that our community is more divided today than ever. We need to treat each other with respect and create healthy and productive dialogue around the issues important to our community.
