Why I am Running
I am running because I have been asked to run. My friends, neighbors and community members have told me that they are deeply concerned and frustrated.
They do not believe that we are moving with a sense of urgency and purpose.
They do not believe that the community’s voice is truly being heard.
They do not believe we can stand by and watch as neighboring communities make real progress on increasing their tax base, providing senior housing, driving excellence in education, and most importantly, engaging the community in a meaningful way to understand their concerns so we can act on them.
I am running for First Selectman because I believe we are entering a new chapter that is critical to Redding’s future.
While I have nothing but respect for the effort of our incumbent First Selectman, I believe we need new leadership that brings a new sense of urgency with a focus on results. My approach will involve moving expeditiously but with an abundance of care. I believe we should proactively embrace the voice and talents of our community members.
I will work tirelessly to bring our community together at a time when we have been thrust into the national headlines around our divisions.
I will leverage my deep professional experience in project management to forge positive outcomes for our long-standing opportunities in West Redding, Georgetown and Gilbert & Bennett to enhance the quality of life in Redding and ensure the future prosperity of our town.
I will leverage my 10+ years of experience on Redding’s Boards of Education to proactively work to retain excellence in our schools at a time when we are experiencing an unprecedented change-over in school leadership.
I will be responsive to the unique needs of the many different constituents that comprise our town. This will include recognizing and acting on our obligation to increase programs for seniors, as well as fulfilling the needs of young families by expanding programming for our youths.
The most important skill for the First Selectman is to be able to listen and really hear what is important to everyone who lives in Redding.
I am 100% committed to hearing every voice!
